We have dedicated a total of four weeks this summer to parent/toddler swim lessons. For the first few days Macy cried off and on, not wanting to be in the water at all. After that she either started getting used to it, or resigned to the fact that we were going to keep going. Macy LOVED the songs, especially “Motorboat, Motorboat,” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” She also liked playing with toys in the baby pool.
After the first two weeks (which we did while Sam was at soccer camps), we tried to take Macy swimming to a couple of different pools on our own. She wanted nothing to do with them. We then decided that it would be worth going to another two weeks of swim lessons with her, but this time Sam went to half of her classes with her.
Cheering the kids jumping off the diving boards before her lesson.
Here are a couple of video clips of Sam and Macy going down the waterslide. We forgot to bring her life jacket and had to use the pool's jacket instead (which was a little big :). Macy wasn't the happiest about the slide but it was entertaining... twice.

I've been trying to find something like this here, but haven't been able to! Unless I join the club or something. It looks like fun though, I might have to give in. She looks so cute! Even with a frown on. :) Have you tried a little baby pool for your backyard? Maybe that wouldn't be as intimidating...
