Macy's newest thing is to ask us questions that she already knows the answers to... just to see what we will say and then to correct us if it's not exactly accurate. Some recent examples-
After listening to a somewhat lengthy conversation in the car between Ashlee (neighbor) and me:
Macy: Mom? Where's Ashlee, Josh, and Elsie?
Me: They are in their house getting ready to go night-night, and Macy is going home to go night-night too. (We had just dropped Ashlee and Elsie off at their house)
Macy: No, no, Josh is not at home. He is at fire. (Earlier I had asked Ashlee where Josh was and she said he was at a meeting for his fire fighting stuff)
Another one- Macy was having a hard time going to bed a couple of nights ago (surely not because of the sno cone she ate right before), and after going in to talk with her like three times and her getting out of her room once to come and find me, I had Sam go and talk to her.
Macy: Where's Clowy?
Sam: She is sleeping on the couch.
Macy: Where are the bugs?
Sam: The bugs are outside sleeping in their beds.
Macy: Where's Mom?
Sam: She is going night-night.
Macy: (getting mad) No she's not. She's on the computer!
Sam laughed and then Macy started bawling because she thought Sam was laughing at her. He laid with her for a few minutes and then Macy said, "Macy said Mom is on the computer and Daddy laughing." Sam said he was sorry (undoubtedly holding in more laughter).
But seriously, what's the deal with questions she already knows the answers to? Listening and then quizzing us. Just to see if we are going to stretch the truth for the sake of having to explain everything? Sheesh. Why does she have to catch on so quickly?!
